Celebration Children

Congratulations to the following children who have made us proud this week!

Reception - Harry has been chosen this week for fantastic reading! Harry is very fast at reading tricky words in our 'reading practise' game beach day. Well done.
Year 1 - Phoebe for the excellent progress she is making in her reading and letters and sounds. Well done and keep it up. 
Year 2 - A child in Year 2 has been chosen for deep thinking and fantastic ideas. Also for her conscientious approach to her work!
Year 3 - Quinn has been chosen for his excellent effort in his times tables and for practising so much at home. 
Year 4 - Harry for wowing Year 4 with his incredible progress in reading and writing this week. He is working so hard in lessons. 
Year 5 - Bobby has been chosen for working hard on his persuasive leaflet about Fairtrade.
Year 6 - Joe for working well in maths today and not giving up when things became more challenging.


Headteacher Awards

Every week, all members of staff are asked to nominate children who have been spotted being responsible, respectful and ready. The code of conduct certificates are always varied and demonstrate the range of places and ways that children demonstrate these values.


 Be Responsible

Well done to the children who have been responsible this week.

Quinn (YR) noticed a friend was a little nervous about the fashion show this week and offered to support him.

A child in Year 1 has been noticed for always taking responsibility for the classroom and helping to tidy up. 


Be Respectful 

Well done to the children who have been respectful this week.

Quinn (Y3) always shows impeccable manners to children and adults in school. He also supported another child so well during our D.T lessons this week.


Be Ready

Well done to the children who have been ready this week.

Dance club have been chosen for being so well practised and ready to perform two fantastic dances at the Dance Festival this week. It was fantastic!

Year 2 News
This week Year 2 have enjoyed finding out about how materials change. We planned an investigation to find out how we could change solid water (ice) back into a liquid most quickly. We were surprised that the ice cube melted most quickly when we poured more water onto it!

Samba Band
Year 5 have been thinking about beats and rhythm in our Music lessons this half term. We have been thinking about notation for writing different beats and created our own Samba band using recycled materials which the children kindly brought into school from home. Well made and well played year 5!

Year 6 have ended their electricity unit by carrying out a variety of investigations with circuits: - Does the amount of voltage change the brightness of the bulb? - Does the length of wire change the brightness of the bulb? - Does the amount of components change the brightness of the bulb...

Making it Move
Year 3 have been making cam mechanisms. When the axle is turned the follower moves up and down. We loved all your different designs!

The Water Cycle
In year 4 we have been making mini water cycles in a cup! We hope to see the effects of evaporation, condensation and precipitation tomorrow!
