Celebration Children

Congratulations to the following children who have made us proud this week!

Reception - Fraser has been chosen for remembering so much 'sticky knowledge' in EVERY subject! Fantastic memory skills!
Year 1 - A child in year 1 has been chosen for always being ready to learn and for trying her best. 
Year 2 - Gabriel has been chosen for determination and resilience at Cross Country, you really kept on going!
Year 3 - Miley has been chosen for excellent writing during sentence stacking and for 'deepening' the moment'.
Year 4 - Jacob has been chosen for always being considerate to other children and staff. Jacob has been really helpful all week.
Year 5 - Jessica W for always showing determination and wanting to improve.
Year 6 - Hugh for demonstrating his ability to focus and his maturity through concentrating well on his work.


Headteacher Awards

Every week Mrs Kerr will present code of conduct certificates in our celebration assembly to children who have been caught being responsible, being respectful and being ready! 


Be Respectful 

Well done to the children who have been respectful this week.

Dylan, Henry, Elizabeth, Eliza, Gabriel and Jessica (Yr2) for showing good manners and fantastic teamwork at the Cross Country.

Eloise, Toby F, Logan, Jess, Fraser and Joyce (Reception) for showing super teamwork and good manners during the Cross Country.

Violet, George, Lois, Jack, Chloe and Robyn (Yr1) for brilliant teamwork and respect to each other during the Cross Country this week.


Be Ready

Well done to the children who have been ready this week.

Year 4 experienced what it might be like to venture into Aladdin's cave. They used their senses to paint a picture in their minds.

Investigating roots
In science this week Year 3 have been learning all about the functions of roots of a plant. Did you know a carrot is actually a taproot and hyacinths have fibrous roots. We looked through magnifying glasses at the roots and found xylem (tubes) that help to move water and nutrients around the plant...

Growing beans
This week, the Reception class have added more to their garden area. We planted some bean seeds that we started growing in small pots in the classroom. Hopefully you will see them growing against our blue fence.

Year 1 Fieldwork
This week Year 1 have been busy looking around to see what improvements could be made to make our school even better! They came up with things like more books and chairs in the library, better technology in the hall and more equipment for the outdoor areas. Well done Year 1!

P.E this week
In P.E this week Year 6 continued to work on their batting skills in rounders. Year 3 learnt our to play a drive shot in tri-golf.  Children in Year 1 and Reception did gymnastics, focusing on balancing skills.

Cross Country
On Wednesday some of the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, took part in a cross country event hosted by Barrow school. Despite the weather being very wet, the children had a wonderful time and kept smiling throughout. Everyone ran well and showed excellent team spirit.

Key Stage 1 Outdoor Area

If anyone has any kitchen utensils or water play items they no longer use we would really appreciate them for the new outdoor area for Key Stage 1.
