Celebration Children

Congratulations to the following children who have made us proud this week!

Reception - Henry for listening more carefully to instructions this week.
Year 1 - Chloe has been chosen for trying really hard in her maths this week.
Year 2 - Bella has been chosen for always being organised. Bella gets the classroom ready for reading every morning! 
Year 3 - Avalon for super concentration and effort in her writing this week.
Year 4 - James has been chosen for great engagement and contributions in class discussions.  
Year 5 - In Year 5 a child has been chosen for demonstrating excellent knowledge of Greek Gods, Goddesses and mythical creatures. 
Year 6 - A child in Year 6 has been chosen for concentrating well on his work and demonstrating his maturity through his approach to the tasks given.

Roman Artefacts
This week in Year 3 we have stared our new topic Emperors and Empires. Today we were studying pictures of Roman artefacts and trying to guess what their purpose was. We all thought of an interesting question we would like to ask about each artefact.

Portrait perfection!
Year Two have been working on their portraiture skills this week. We decided to use watercolour paint to recreate a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The children looked closely at all the details in the picture and worked hard to make their paintings as accurate as possible.

Fun fact: I started school here at John Wilkinson in the reception class when the school first opened and was in the first class to travel all the way through school.
