ISSUE 14 

Celebration Children

Congratulations to the following children who have made us proud this week!

Reception - Thomas has been chosen this week for being a fantastic mathematician! He is able to subitise confidently and understands about the composition of numbers. 
Year 1 - Lois has been chosen for having a 'can do' attitude to everything she does in school. 
Year 2 -
In Year 2 Thomas has been always showing us the three R's in school, he is ready, responsible and respectful. Well done!
Year 3 - Davin has been chosen for being very focused in class and concentrating brilliantly during writing. 
Year 4 - 
In Year 4 Bobby has been working incredibly hard in every single lesson this week. We are all very proud of how hard he has been working. Well done.
Year 5 - The person chosen this week in Year 5 is always working conscientiously in class and giving care and attention to her work, especially presentation.  
Year 6 - Georgia has been chosen this week for being an excellent role model in all areas of school life. She is a great member of our class and the school.  


Headteacher Awards

Every week Mrs Kerr will present code of conduct certificates in our celebration assembly to children who have been caught being responsible, being respectful and being ready!

Nursery Learning

Outdoor Learning
In outdoor learning this week KS1 children have been looking at the life cycle of frogs. Children enjoyed a story called 'how to grow frogs' and looked at some frogspawn. We made a safe area for the frogspawn to grow, where the children can also observe their development.

This week Year 3 have been working really hard on learning how to do column addition. We used dienes to help us work out the sum.

The Great Wave
This week Year 2 have been looking at seascapes. We really liked A Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Hokusai and decided to create our own versions. We used what we have learned about warm and cool colours and foreground and background to create some amazing images!

We are very pleased with how enthusiastic the girls have been about playing football following their success in recent sports events and competitions. We have been in contact with a local football club, Spartans, who have informed us that they have an under 9s and under 11s girls teams and would welcome new members.
