Celebration Children

Congratulations to the following children who have made us proud this week!

Reception - Bailey has been chosen for trying so hard in phonics lessons and guided reading. He is reading more confidently now.  Well done!
Year 1 - A child in Year 1 has been chosen for being such a kind friend this week and for his super duper place value work in maths.  Well done!
Year 2 - Jack has been chosen for building a fantastic, creative re-enactment of the Great Fire of London.  Well done!
Year 3 - Iris has been chosen for her determination and resilience when tackling some tricky multiplication and division problems in maths this week.  Well done!
Year 4 - Evelyn has been chosen for working hard to develop her ideas for a volcano shape poem.  Well done!
Year 5 - Gamze has been chosen for displaying her awesome positivity! She is a role model for others.  She listens well and thinks carefully about her learning.  Well done!
Year 6 - A child in Year 6 has been chosen for participating more in lessons.  It has been lovely to see their hand up more and to hear their ideas.  Well done!


Headteacher Awards

Every week, all members of staff are asked to nominate children who have been spotted being responsible, respectful and ready. The code of conduct certificates are always varied and demonstrate the range of places and ways that children demonstrate these values.


 Be Responsible

Well done to the children who have been responsible this week.

Nancy, Thomas and Gamze have been nominated this week for giving up two of their breaktimes to teach hockey on the Key Stage 1 playground. Well done!


Be Respectful 

Well done to the children who have been respectful this week.

Jenson (Y3) and Arabelle (R) have been noticed for always being so polite and using their manners in Breakfast Club. Well done!


Be Ready

Well done to the children who have been ready this week.

Well done to the Year 3 and Year 4 Footballers who were ready with their kit and represented the school so beautifully on Wednesday.

 

 

Sports News 

Selected children from Year 3 and Year 4 were invited to participate in the Year 3/4 Football East Qualifiers at William Brookes School this week.  The children were ready with their kit and represented the school beautifully.  

They came away from the event with a Third Place and a certificate acknowledging the Teamwork displayed!  Congratulations to the whole team!

Bringing the garden space back to life
The children in Reception and Year 1 have started work to bring a gardening space back to life. Multiplication and Division Strategies in Year 4
Children in Year 4 have been working on multiplication and division in class. We have used a range of equipment and strategies to show arrays and their associated facts with a focus on multiples of 3, 6 and 9.

Upcycling T-Shirts in Reception
The Reception class have been designing patterns and decorating their old T-shirts so that they have something new to wear. They all had fantastic ideas.
