In Year 4 we have been weaving loom designs in the style of the Anglo-Saxons who we have been studying through this Autumn term. The children have loved learning this new skill and making their own designs!
Year 2 have started to learn how to play hockey. We learned how to hold the stick and dribble the ball. Then we played a fun game called Dragon's Nest where we had to work as a team to collect eggs from the nest and then dribble them back again. We are really looking forward to teaching our friends how to play!
This week in Nursery, children have been practising our Christmas performance. They have been working very hard on remembering their words and singing songs loudly! We can’t show any photos because we don’t want to spoil the surprise! However, Buddy, our cheeky elf, has been getting up to mischief including getting involved in our play.
Year 2 have been learning all about significant people from the past. We have loved finding out about Neil Armstrong to help us write a question and answer text all about him!
In the Reception class this week, we have book reading the story of ‘Mrs Armitage on wheels’. We used construction kits to make a new vehicle for Mrs Armitage. They were very creative!
Year 3 have been learning about the planets in our solar system and how far they are from the sun. We used toilet roll to measure out the distance each planet was from the sun - we were amazed!
The weather is starting to get colder, but the children have wrapped up warm to enjoy another week of outdoor learning.
This week in Nursery, children have been learning about the meaning of Christmas. They have been thinking about Christmas traditions and how they compare to other festivals we may celebrate. They particularly enjoyed helping to put up the Christmas decorations, and are excited to see what Elf gets up to when we are not here!!
