Wednesday afternoon's girls' football club is in full swing. The girls have warmed up, stretched and are ready to go! They are working on their dribbling skills in 1 v 1s and training their quick reflexes in goal keeping based drills. They will be looking forward to putting these skills into practice in a game situation later on. Remember this is a free club that any Year 5 or 6 girl can join. We would love to have more members come and join the fun!
Girls football club
The Year 5 and 6 girls have had a great afternoon enjoying drills and a game coached by our brilliant William Brookes leaders. If your child would like to join in the fun please come to the office to express an interest
We hope you loved watching our football themed dance last term. We were so proud of how professionally all the children performed the dance at William Brookes and how hard they worked at dance club throughout last term. They were all super stars, a huge well done!
A small number of our girls headed off to represent the school at Bridgnorth just before Half Term. They were fantastic and worked together well. In the heat stage they won every match and made their way to the quarter finals.
It was a nail-biting match. The score was 1-1 at the end of the 6 minutes. 2 extra minutes were played and it was still 1-1 and so it went to penalty shoot out.
The girls put up an amazing show and our goalkeeper stayed calm in the face of pressure. Unfortunately, we were knocked out at this point. It was 1-1 on penalties with the final shot to be taken by the other school. They successfully scored and went through to the semi finals.
Well done to everyone. I know Miss Williams and I were totally pulled into the drama of the football and can't wait to see the girls play again.
As part of our membership to the TrustEd Sports Partnership, a group of Year 5 and Year 6 children participated in the Key Stage 2 Sports Hall Athletics at William Brookes School on Wednesday 17th January. Children competed with pupils from other local primary schools, and had a fantastic time.
The Girls' Team were awarded 1st Place in the event, and will now move on to the Finals in May 2024! Well done to everyone involved!
The High 5 Team were amazing again this week. The weather was not on their side but they didn't let it stop them and they secured another win. Thank you to all of the parents that supported them in the rain too.
Well done to our fantastic High 5 team. The improvements made to your technique were great and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing your team work tonight. You definitely deserved the wins.
The Year 6’s had lots of fun in their fitness lesson for P.E last week!
They learnt about their personal level of stamina and what effect different excercises had on their body.
Mr C got involved too!
This week some of our Year 5 and 6 children took part in the swimming gala at William Brookes. We were so impressed with how well you swam in the competition and the amount of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places we took home! Well done everyone.
Another super Sports Day complete
